Platelet-rich plasma from your own body is injected into your scalp. These injections activate stem cells in the hair follicle, which in turn promote new hair growth. PRP, alone or in combination with medical therapy, has achieved amazing results for Dr. Aivaz’s patients!

The process: It begins with a standard blood draw from a patient’s arm. Next, the tube of blood is processed through a centrifuge, which separates the plasma from the remainder of the blood components. The scalp is cleaned and a nerve block can be performed to temporarily numb the scalp which makes the procedure virtually painless. The platelet-rich plasma is then injected directly into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles.

Dr. Aivaz recommends treatments once a month for four months, then every three to six months thereafter for maintenance.

Dr. Aivaz takes a very comprehensive and thorough approach to treating hair loss. You will have a consultation with Dr. Aivaz to discuss the history of your hair loss and your concerns. During this consultation, Dr. Aivaz will ask questions about your medical history and may recommend bloodwork to further analyze your hair loss. She will then perform a complete analysis and create a treatment plan custom-tailored to your needs.
