What Is a Treatment Session Like?
- Step 1: Numb the treatment area. After numbing, patients report virtually no pain. Some very light discomfort is normal but well-tolerated in most patients.
- Step 2: Inject the fillers into treatment areas. How long this takes will depend on the number of injections and how many areas you want to treat. Expect < 30 minutes in most cases.
- Step 3: Enjoy your results. Many fillers provide near-instant enhancements, and patients can walk out the door already enjoying their results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Fillers are a soft, jelly-like substance composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that naturally occurs in the human body, and it is found in our skin. The main function of hyaluronic acid is to hydrate and add volume to the skin.
By replacing the hyaluronic acid that is lost over time due to aging and sun exposure, fillers can create lift, add volume, soften fine lines and wrinkles and restore a more youthful appearance to areas of the face that show signs of aging.
The dermal fillers consisting of hyaluronic acid that Dr. Aivaz uses include Restylane, Juvederm, RHA, and Belotero. Hyaluronic acid is often favored over other filler substances because it can be dissolved (with an enzyme called hyaluronidase) should there be a need to do so.
